The matchup between Pembroke Hill and Barstow on Thursday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Raiders put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 22-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Eli Sitzer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Brendan Sotta was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last seven games. Miles Washington was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

Pembroke Hill hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in four consecutive contests.

Pembroke Hill's record now sits at 9-3-1. As for Barstow, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pembroke Hill will challenge Raytown South at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Barstow, they will face off against Kansas City East Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
