The Hopewell Blue Devils will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Booker T. Washington Mighty Bookers at 7:00 p.m. Hopewell will be strutting in after a victory while Booker T. Washington will be coming in after a defeat.
Hopewell put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. Everything went their way against Prince George as Hopewell made off with a 48-27 win. Given Hopewell's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Prince George is ranked 172nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hopewell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kesean Henderson led the charge by rushing for 57 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Another player making a difference was Mic'kahari Tatum, who rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 70 points the game before, Booker T. Washington were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They took a 12-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Norcom. Booker T. Washington has not had much luck with Norcom recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Hopewell's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Booker T. Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
