In what's become a running theme this season, the McCool Junction Mustangs gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat East Butler 77-35 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-17.
McKenna Yates was her usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with six assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Briann Stutzman was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with two steals.
Despite the defeat, East Butler saw an underclassman step up: Lillie Kriz scored 12 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Kriz continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
McCool Junction has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for East Butler, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McCool Junction will take on the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Butler, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Storm at 6:00 p.m. High Plains is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
