The Cedar Valley Aviators were the 64-59 winner over the Timpview Thunderbirds when they last played one another back in November of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Cedar Valley took a 69-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Timpview on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Wednesday (57), Cedar Valley still had to take the loss.
Several Aviators players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Heath Christensen, who scored 21 points. The game was Christensen's seventh in a row with at least ten points. James Milligan was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Cedar Valley are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Timpview, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Valley will square off against Maple Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Maple Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. As for Timpview, they will head out on the road to face off against Salem Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Salem Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
