Softball Recap: Pine Lake Prep Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Pine Lake Prep got themselves on the board against Langtree Charter Academy on Monday, but Langtree Charter Academy never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 17-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Pride, who have now won 12 contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Kristen Armstrong was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Armstrong was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emery Jensen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Maddie Beaver, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Pine Lake Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .783. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Langtree Charter Academy only posted an OBP of .091.

Pine Lake Prep pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Langtree Charter Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Looking ahead, Pine Lake Prep will face off against Mountain Island Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raptors will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Pride surely won't give up without a fight. Langtree Charter Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
