The Collinsville Kahoks suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Waterloo by a score of 54-51. Collinsville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Waterloo apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Monday.
Despite the loss, Collinsville still got an impressive performance from Talesha Gilmore, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gilmore has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Guererro, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Collinsville now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Waterloo, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-14.
Collinsville will head out on the road to challenge Belleville West at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Belleville West is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. Waterloo won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Teutopolis at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Teutopolis presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Waterloo in Illinois (Teutopolis is ranked 83rd, while Waterloo is ranked 286th).
