Mackeely Boggs was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Those runs marked the first that she scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rehna Wallace, who got on base in three of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Columbia Montour Vo-Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .579 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Sullivan County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Benton a 16-0 shutout.
Emilia Viveiros made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Viveiros was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayla Fowler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Bailey Smith was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.
Columbia Montour Vo-Tech's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Sullivan County, their record is now 1-0.
