The Catalina Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. The matchup between Catalina and The Gregory School wasn't particularly close, with Catalina falling 58-44. Catalina lost against The Gregory School in their previous head to head back in November of 2016, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 64-45 score last time.
Leading The Gregory School to victory were Rose Pisetsky and Zena Smith. Pisetsky scored 25 points, while Smith scored 19 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Lauren Horowitz, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and five assists.
Catalina's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-9. As for The Gregory School, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Catalina will face off against Sabino at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gregory School won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Benson at 5:30 p.m. on January 4th. Hopefully Benson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 42 two weeks ago.
