Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Vestal Golden Bears, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 31-7 walloping at the hands of Whitesboro on Friday. Vestal's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Camden Schaffer threw for 125 yards on ten of 25 attempts. JT Gannon was his top target, picking up 84 receiving yards. On the ground, Jackson Hines rushed for 32 yards.
Vestal's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Whitesboro, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Vestal does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Whitesboro will take on East/World of Inquiry at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East/World of Inquiry is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
