The Meadows School Mustangs were the 43-38 winner over the Boulder City Eagles when they last played one another on January 8th, but their luck changed this time around. The Meadows School fell to Boulder City 43-39. The Meadows School has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The Meadows School's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kate Verdirame, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Verdirame has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tessa Lalanne, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Sophia Muelrath had a dynamite game for Boulder City, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Muelrath has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Kiley Flowers was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven assists.
The Meadows School has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Boulder City, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Meadows School will stay at home for another game and welcome Sports Leadership & Management at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Sports Leadership & Management is ranked 67th, while The Meadows School is ranked 63rd). As for Boulder City, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Pahrump Valley at 6:30 p.m. Pahrump Valley is looking to tack on another W to their ten-game streak on the road.
