The Magnolia Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Crossett Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Magnolia is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
It was a proper cat-fight when Magnolia took on Hope on Friday. The Panthers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bobcats a 15-0 shutout. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Kloey Basinger made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two triples, five RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Magnolia got a massive performance out of Cheyanne Evans, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Addyson Faulk, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Magnolia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Crossett ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over Junction City. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Dragons on their field since April 7, 2017.
Crossett let Zoey Jones and Beckham Hartley run wild. Jones went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run, while Hartley went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Taylor, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.
Magnolia's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Crossett, their record now sits at 17-5.
Magnolia suffered a grim 12-6 defeat to Crossett in their previous matchup back in March of 2020. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
