Baseball Recap: Tri-City Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against New Way Learning Academy

Tri-City Christian Academy's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 22-2 margin over the New Way Learning Academy Bulldogs. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Bradyn Eckert was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Eckert was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. He also brought in three RBI, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Canaan Brady was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Brady is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Michael Brady was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Tri-City Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Way Learning Academy only posted an OBP of .182.

The win got Tri-City Christian Academy back to even at 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri-City Christian Academy will face off against Wickenburg Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Way Learning Academy, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Heritage Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in New Way Learning Academy's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Heritage Academy has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
