The Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers are ranked highly in their home state, and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Flint Hill Huskies. Georgetown Day took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Flint Hill. Georgetown Day has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Tobias Viorst and Tigin Unsal certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Viorst scored ten points along with six rebounds, while Unsal scored eight points along with ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Abe Badji, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Georgetown Day has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Flint Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
Georgetown Day's homestand continues as they prepare to take on DC International at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (DC International is ranked 25th, while Georgetown Day is ranked 18th). As for Flint Hill, they will head out on the road to take on Potomac School at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Potomac School knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Flint Hill likes a good challenge.
