The Times Squared Academy Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Tiverton Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Monday, Times Squared Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Hope, taking the game 14-11. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
Meanwhile, Tiverton faced Exeter-West Greenwich in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Knights a 16-0 shutout. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by eight runs or more this season.
Lia Doster made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one double.
In other batting news, Brooke Sowa and Liliana Luis did most of the damage at the plate: Sowa went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI, while Luis went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Luis has posted since back in June of 2025. Carlie Martin was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Tiverton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in five consecutive games.
Times Squared Academy's record is now 3-5. As for Tiverton, their record now sits at 8-1.
Times Squared Academy suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Tiverton in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
