The Brighton Bengals scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 73-54 victory over East. Given Brighton's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while East is ranked 86th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sophie Nielsen continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Charlotte Oneal was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Brighton's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for East, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Brighton will head out on the road to challenge Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Skyline focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday. As for East, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Alta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alta will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
