Baseball Game Preview: Ganado Indians vs. Shiner Comanches

The Ganado Indians will take on the Shiner Comanches at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ganado is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Ganado easily dispatched Weimar on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Ganado fell just short of Fayetteville by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday. The Indians' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Luke Reid put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Ganado's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-5-1 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Callen Hajovsky made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to triples, as he's now hit at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ayden Tudyk, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shiner). They never let Louise get on the board and left with a 20-0 win last Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Comanches considering their two-run performance the match before.

Shiner's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Ganado, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6-1.

Ganado was able to grind out a solid win over Shiner in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 4-1. Does Ganado have another victory up their sleeve, or will Shiner turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
