The biggest upset of the week belonged to Modesto Christian, who took down 174th ranked Hilmar, 32-21. Zack Megee threw for 192 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 116 yards in the win.
Ripon extended the longest winning streak in Trans Valley this week by beating Escalon, 34-28. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Indians.
Ripon's dynamic duo of Kyle Wengel and Bradley Clark proved tough for the Cougars to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Wengel threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns and Clark had 113 yards receiving. Michael Ysit helped Ripon's passing attack out by catching four balls for 89 yards.
Steven Machado was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 317 yards as Orestimba bested Escalon. Teammate Tanner Pruett added to the ground attack by rushing for 83 yards.
5-foot-9 quarterback Wengel of the Indians is the league leader in passing yards this season with 820. He has also thrown 10 touchdowns. On the ground, the Warriors' Machado has rushed for 1155 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Ernie Esquivez. The Orestimba star has 20 catches for 352 yards.
Two of the top units in Trans Valley will face off this week when Ripon takes on the Crusaders. The Indians' offense has racked up 225 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Modesto Christian has allowed only 119 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Yellowjackets take on Orestimba. Hilmar is currently in third, while Aaron Souza's team is in second.
Steve Gleason's team was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in the league. The Crusaders defeated Frank Marques's team 32-21 earlier in the week.
