Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for First Christian

First Christian entered their tilt with Northside Christian Academy on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on Northside Christian Academy with a sharp 8-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-0 on April 1st.

Morgan Earnhart was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Mason Williams was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Colin Preston, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

First Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Northside Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. First Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe Corinth Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Lions have won five straight at home dating back to last season, while the Warriors won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Meanwhile, Northside Christian Academy will square off against rival Open Bible Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
