The Mt. Gilead Indians will be home for the holidays to greet the Northmor Golden Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Mt. Gilead strolled past Danville with points to spare, taking the game 55-37. That 55-37 margin sets a new team best for Mt. Gilead this season.
Even though Northmor has not done well against Centerburg recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Northmor walked away with a 55-47 win over Centerburg. The win was just what Northmor needed coming off of a 79-49 defeat in their prior matchup.
Northmor had a senior duo take command as Grant Bentley scored 24 points and Drew Hammond dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds. The match was Bentley's third in a row with at least ten points. Bryson Keirns was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds.
Mt. Gilead now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Northmor, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.
Mt. Gilead came out on top in a nail-biter against Northmor in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 65-63. Does Mt. Gilead have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northmor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
