The La Jolla Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the High Tech SD Storm at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. La Jolla will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
La Jolla is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Hoover with a sharp 26-6 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won nine contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Jacey Taylor made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Taylor was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2 runs per game.

Lucia Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, High Tech SD let Xima Martinez and Nina Asnani run wild. Martinez went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Asnani went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base was Asnani's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Melchor, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
The victory got High Tech SD back to even at 8-8. As for La Jolla, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
High Tech SD's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: La Jolla has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.6 hits per game. It's a different story for High Tech SD, though, as they've been averaging 8.7 hits. Given La Jolla's sizable advantage in that area, the Storm will need to find a way to close that gap.
La Jolla got the 'W' in their previous matchup two weeks ago against High Tech SD by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
