Volunteer is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Greeneville is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Falcons will host the Greene Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Volunteer's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Greeneville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Tuesday, Volunteer made easy work of Cherokee and carried off a 9-2 victory. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Emily Walker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that she has snagged this season.
