On Friday, De Anza was the victim of a tough 62-37 loss at the hands of Piedmont. De Anza was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-21.
Despite the loss, De Anza saw an underclassman step up: Ahmari Otis scored 22 points. The game was Otis' sixth in a row with at least ten points.
De Anza's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Piedmont, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
De Anza's road trip will continue as they head out to face Alhambra at 2:30 p.m. on December 9th. Alhambra is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Piedmont, they will face off against St. Joseph Notre Dame at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Joseph Notre Dame presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Piedmont in California (St. Joseph Notre Dame is ranked 110th, while Piedmont is ranked 453rd).
