The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Cottage Hill Christian Academy came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Mobile Christian is ranked 214th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mobile Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael MJ Moore, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. Rico Prince jr. was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Cottage Hill Christian Academy's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-8. As for Mobile Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-8.
Cottage Hill Christian Academy and Flomaton will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Mobile Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Saraland at 7:30 p.m. Saraland has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19.
