The Plano East Panthers will challenge the Allen Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Plano East is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
It was a proper cat-fight when Plano East took on McKinney on Wednesday. The Panthers walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Lions.
Jadyn Dawson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Plano East let Kayleigh Miller and Chloe Lee run wild. Miller went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Lee scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Lee has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gina Martin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Allen, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against McKinney Boyd on Wednesday, sneaking past 12-10. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the match before.
The team relied heavily on Ady Fincanon, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Rebecca Liu, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Plano East pushed their record up to 20-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Allen, their victory bumped their record up to 14-15-1.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Plano East hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. However, it's not like Allen struggles in that department as they've averaged .353. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Plano East suffered a grim 17-10 defeat to Allen when the teams last played back in March. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
