There's no place like home for the Veterans Warhawks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past Swainsboro 81-49 at home.
Veterans had a senior duo take command as Antonio "Tone" Scott scored 19 points along with 6 assists and 6 steals and Chandler Thomas dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Scott's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaivyon Dawson, who scored 4 points along with 6 rebounds.
Veterans now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Swainsboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Veterans will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Houston County at 4:30 p.m. Houston County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Veterans likes a good challenge. As for Swainsboro, they will head out on the road to face off against Tattnall County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tattnall County is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
