Apple Valley will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Serrano on Wednesday. The Sun Devils were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Diamondbacks. The win continues a trend for the Sun Devils in their matchups with the Diamondbacks: they've now won seven in a row.

Makaylee Cerf made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Khloe Beserra was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Madison Buzzard was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run and two runs.
Meanwhile, Hesperia hadn't done well against Burroughs recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Scorpions put the hurt on the Burros with a sharp 12-2 victory. Considering the Scorpions have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Hesperia got a massive performance out of Marlie Munoz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Jenevy Hidalgo, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Apple Valley's win bumped their record up to 7-9-1. As for Hesperia, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
Apple Valley got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Hesperia by a conclusive 25-1 score. Will the Sun Devils repeat their success, or do the Scorpions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
