The Shoshoni Wranglers will head out on the road to take on the Greybull Buffaloes at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Shoshoni has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team is hunting for their first win since December 16.
Shoshoni struggled with assists on Saturday (Rocky Mountain had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Shoshoni was the victim of a tough 53-28 loss at the hands of Rocky Mountain. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Shoshoni in their matchups with Rocky Mountain: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Shoshoni saw an underclassman step up: Kaylor McConnaughey scored five points along with five steals. McConnaughey hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games.
Shoshoni struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They are 1-2 when they can't control their own glass like that.
Meanwhile, Greybull came up short against Wind River on Saturday and fell 60-48. Greybull has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Shoshoni dropped their record down to 6-12 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.8 points per game. As for Greybull, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.
Shoshoni might still be hurting after the 47-22 loss they got from Greybull in their previous meeting back in January. Can Shoshoni avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
