The Rushville Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 47-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Connersville. Rushville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Connersville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Rushville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carly Senour, who scored ten points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Leonie Boyer, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Connersville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addison Jones, who scored 15 points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Sembach, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Rushville's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-15. As for Connersville, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rushville will take on Columbus North at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Connersville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
