The final game of the high school basketball season in Texas will be one to remember. Nationally-ranked
Plano East (Plano) and
Stony Point (Round Rock) each advanced to the Class 6A state championship with semifinal wins Friday at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
Ranked No. 3 nationally by MaxPreps, Plano East (38-0) will meet No. 7 Stony Point (37-1) on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. CT.
Junior forward
D.J. Hall provided 15 points and 10 rebounds for Plano East in its 61-45 semifinal win over
Lake Ridge (Mansfield). The Panthers broke things open with a 10-2 run to end the third quarter.
In Class 1A,
Benjamin advanced to Saturday's final behind high school basketball's leading scorer nationally
Grayson Rigdon, who had 32 in a 75-58 win over
Gordon on Thursday.
