Basketball Recap: Norwood's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Norwood barely beat Mansfield the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Norwood Pirates blew past the Mansfield Lions 58-34 on Wednesday. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 24 points or more this season.

Norwood had a senior duo take command as Cooper Vaughan dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds and Peyton McDaris shot 57% from the field on his way to 18 points. Vaughan is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah Drake, who posted six points and five assists.

The win was the sixth in a row for Norwood, bringing their record for this year to 24-2. As for Mansfield, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.

Norwood has already played their next game, a 50-48 defeat against Hartville on the 28th. Mansfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
