Southwest has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Wyatt Chaparrals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Southwest suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Everman on the road and fell 80-22. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southwest in their matchups with Everman: they've now lost nine in a row.
Meanwhile, Wyatt didn't have too much trouble with Trimble Tech at home on Wednesday as they won 49-30. The win was just what Wyatt needed coming off of a 61-34 loss in their prior match.
Javia Lane and Jordyn Lee Mathis were among the main playmakers for Wyatt as the former scored ten points along with four steals and the latter scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Lee Mathis pulled down eight or more rebounds. Tianna Johnson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Wyatt, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.
