Ottumwa found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 18-40 punch to the gut against Des Moines East on Friday.
Ottumwa are on a seven-game losing streak that has brought their record down to 1-7. The win got Des Moines East back to even at 4-4.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Ottumwa will take on Mason City at home at 7:00 PM next week. Both of those teams have had a rocky road up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Ottumwa and eight for Mason City. Des Moines East will stay at home against Indianola at 7:00 PM. Des Moines East will be strutting in after a victory while Indianola will be stumbling in from a loss.
