Polk County is 7-0 against Chase since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Polk County Wolverines the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Chase Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Polk County is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chase in North Carolina (Polk County is ranked 252nd, while Chase is ranked 617th).
Polk County put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Burns 59-24 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Polk County has posted yet this season.
Polk County found their leader in underclassman Bailey Staton, who scored 21 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Staton continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Bradley, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Chase, who are still winless after their ninth match. They were dealt a 50-3 loss at the hands of Brevard on Friday. Chase has struggled against Brevard recently, as their matchup on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Polk County's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Chase, their defeat was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-9.
Everything came up roses for Polk County against Chase when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 56-10 victory. Will Polk County repeat their success, or does Chase have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
