Lake Belton stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 57-7 victory over Ellison on the road. Given Lake Belton's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Ellison is ranked 557th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Belton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Micah Hudson, who picked up 158 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a rushing score. Hudson has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more receiving yards the last four times he's played. Lake Belton also got a significant boost from Cameron Hamilton, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 117 yards.
Lake Belton's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. In that department, Jeremiah Battreall was the leader with two sacks.
Northwest typically have all the answers at home, but last Thursday Ryan proved too difficult a challenge. Ryan enjoyed a cozy 28-14 victory over Northwest. 28 seems to be a good number for Ryan as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Lake Belton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Ryan, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
