Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Legacy walked away with it. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Innovation Bulls on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on 11 straight.
Legacy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-14.
Taylor Smith paced Legacy's offense, picking up 18 kills. Smith got some help from Meredith Prince and her 45 assists. Paisley Woods controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Despite the loss, Innovation still got an impressive performance from Aylani Correa, who had 23 digs and seven assists. Correa is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Leilani Conforme, who had 13 assists and six digs.
Legacy's record now sits at 23-7. As for Innovation, the loss snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 20-6 record.
