Rio Mesa suffered their biggest defeat since December 26, 2023 on Wednesday. Their tough 73-48 loss to San Marcos might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rio Mesa in their matchups with San Marcos: they've now lost three in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Rodney Adams jr., who scored ten points. John Moreno was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, even though Ventura scored an imposing 60 points on Wednesday, Dos Pueblos still came out on top. Dos Pueblos secured a 64-60 W over Ventura.
Rio Mesa has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Dos Pueblos, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10.
Rio Mesa didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Dos Pueblos in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 63-58 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rio Mesa since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
