Basketball Recap: Ethan Vaseleck Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Greene

Chenango Forks won the last time they faced Greene and things went their way on Friday too. The Chenango Forks Blue Devils came out on top in a nail-biter against the Greene Trojans, sneaking past 55-52. That's two games straight that the Blue Devils have won by exactly three points.

Chenango Forks' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Vaseleck, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points. Vaseleck has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brady Vaseleck, who posted seven points and six assists.

Chenango Forks smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Chenango Forks' win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Greene, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chenango Forks will venture away from home to challenge Norwich at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Norwich knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Chenango Forks likes a good challenge. As for Greene, they will head out to take on Unatego at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
