The Vanguard Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 77-32 win over Belleview. That 45 points margin sets a new team best for Vanguard this season.
Jandrian Smith had a dynamite game for Vanguard, scoring 20 points along with five assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Cameron Powell was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Belleview lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Wyatt Brooks, who scored ten points. Brooks continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Vanguard's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-8. As for Belleview, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vanguard will square off against Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Forest's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Belleview, they will head out on the road to take on Citrus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
