Los Amigos is 7-2 against Bolsa Grande since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Los Amigos Lobos will head out on the road to face off against the Bolsa Grande Matadors at 7:00 p.m. Bolsa Grande took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Los Amigos, who comes in off a win.
The third road game was the charm for Los Amigos, as they earned their first road win of the season. They really took it to Loara for the full four quarters, racking up a 34-6 victory on the road.
Los Amigos got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Pedro Hernandez out in front who rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns. Isaac Galindo and his 96 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Los Amigos' victory.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Bolsa Grande had to settle for a 21-18 defeat against Rancho Alamitos on Friday.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Marc Navarro, who picked up 103 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Navarro was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 66 yards. Ethan d Nguyen was another key contributor, throwing for 190 yards and two touchdowns.
Los Amigos' victory on Friday bumped their record up to 4-4. As for Bolsa Grande, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Los Amigos beat Bolsa Grande 35-26 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Los Amigos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
