Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 11 to 3 on the offensive boards, a fact the Eastern Hancock Royals proved on Saturday. They strolled past Shenandoah with points to spare, taking the game 60-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Eastern Hancock.
Among those leading the charge was Caiden Willis, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Luke Morris was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Shenandoah lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cannon Case, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Haygen Tomlinson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Eastern Hancock now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Shenandoah, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern Hancock and Lapel will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lapel will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Shenandoah, they will head out on the road to challenge Union County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Union County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
