Elijah Harless was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Harless wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Slavkovsky, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Peyton Kallay also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Harding's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Harvey, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Looking ahead, Harding will be playing in front of their home fans against Bristol at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
