Forest is 9-1 against Downsville since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Forest Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Downsville Demons at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Forest and 52 for Downsville dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Forest was beaten by Simsboro 83-34. While losing is never fun, Forest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 369th, while Simsboro is ranked 172nd).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 54-18, which was the final score in Downsville's tilt against Choudrant on Tuesday. Downsville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-10.
Nathan Wolfe was Downsville's leading scorer, having posted five points.
Charles Vick held things down on the boards with six rebounds.
Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Downsville, they dropped their record down to 0-24 with that loss, which was their 26th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Forest took their win against Downsville in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 46-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for Forest since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
