The Auburn Mountainview Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Enumclaw Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Auburn Mountainview will be strutting in after a win while Enumclaw will be coming in after a defeat.
Auburn Mountainview's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over Beamer. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.
Jayce Yost was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Yost was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Imani Brown and Jeremiah Weatherford did most of the damage at the plate: Brown got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI, while Weatherford went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Brown a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brennen Grames, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Auburn Mountainview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 25 runs the game before, Enumclaw was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Auburn Riverside. The loss was the Hornets' first of the season.
Kannius Alva was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple.
Auburn Mountainview now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Enumclaw, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Auburn Mountainview has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .551. However, it's not like Enumclaw struggles in that department as they've averaged .517. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Auburn Mountainview couldn't quite get it done against Enumclaw in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 as they fell 4-1. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
