Plainwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hastings Saxons. One positive for the Trojans, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Taya Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Tatum Johnson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
Even though they lost, Plainwell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Plainwell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. Hastings has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
