Bellwood-Antis' defense stepped up as well, laying out Max Persichetti three times. Leading the way was Christian Jennings with two sacks. He also made six total tackles, which is notable because Bellwood-Antis is undefeated when he posts at least four total tackles, but 3-4 otherwise.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Richland over United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United] in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Rams were the clear victors by a 35-12 margin over United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United]. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won seven games by 23 points or more so far this season.
Bellwood-Antis better keep an eye on Brayden Knepper. He was instrumental in Richland's win, rushing for 129 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Those 129 rushing yards gave Knepper a new career-high. Arnold Mugerwa did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 83 receiving yards.
Bellwood-Antis' record now sits at 7-4. As for Richland, their record is now 10-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Bellwood-Antis has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 196 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Richland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 153.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Bellwood-Antis took a serious blow against Richland in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, falling 54-14. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
