Orangewood Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caroline Putt, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Hadleigh Weis also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Geneva never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past Lyman 11-0. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 11 runs or more this season.
Geneva got a massive performance out of Ella Ingram, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance gave Ingram a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Bastian, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
Geneva always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lyman only posted an OBP of .250.
Geneva's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Orangewood Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Orangewood Christian's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. Orangewood Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Geneva, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Orangewood Christian continue to outrun the ball?
