They strolled past John Carroll Catholic with points to spare, taking the game 51-37. Given King's Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Rams are ranked 420th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
King's Academy was led to victory by Matt Mcpherson and Javian Jones. Mcpherson scored 14 points, while Jones scored 16 points along with three steals. Jones has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. Reggie Workman was another key contributor, scoring six points.
John Carroll Catholic lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Pat Silas, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Collin Jefferson, who scored five points along with six rebounds and five assists.
King's Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for John Carroll Catholic, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-14.
King's Academy and the Eagles will face off on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Elite Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 280 points over their last four matchups.
