The Hoisington Cardinals lost to the Pratt Greenbacks back in February of 2023, but the Hoisington Cardinals didn't allow the Pratt Greenbacks the same satisfaction on Friday. Hoisington blew past the Greenbacks 52-32. Given Hoisington's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Greenbacks are ranked 134th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jordyn Boxberger went supernova for Hoisington, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Boxberger pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallory Mooney, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Hoisington's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-4. As for Pratt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6-3.
Hoisington will be playing at home against the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Smoky Valley and the Cardinals are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Pratt, they will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats on Tuesday.
