Even though the Springfield Spartans have not done well against the Ravenna Ravens recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Springfield took down the Ravens 53-37. That looming 53-37 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Springfield yet this season.
Anthony Ahern continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Siegferth, who scored four points along with five assists and two steals.
Springfield's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Ravenna, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield will take on the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Spartans in Ohio (the Indians are ranked 194th, while the Spartans are ranked 566th). As for Ravenna, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mogadore will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.
