The Southern Trojans lost against the Holy Cross Cougars back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Southern was beaten by Holy Cross 85-48. Southern was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-25.
Jacob Hand was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 23 points along with 6 assists and 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Loftis, who scored 17 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Southern and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Holy Cross, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Southern will head out on the road to face off against Shawnee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holy Cross, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Bullitt at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
